"Night over at the Festival of Blues (3rd edition)
Francis Rateau - from Crossroads Magazine wrote about their (Hokie Joint) last album: "In the area of Colchester (Great Britain), resounds the sound of a new combination, Hokie Joint, of crazy rogues and dashing young people who approach the shores of rock with sulfurous playing and a furious passion. The band recorded last november, in Benelux, an album astonishing, clashing and which threw in the face of boring world, unconstrained, violent smells of music It's as cutting as the teeth of rock, as resounding as the emotion of the blues and as stimulating as the sound of folk. With overflowing imagination and a lot of witty eloquence, Hokie Joint pulverises the genres and the inevitable influences, it laughs in the way of a too wise Tom Waits, of a smooth Eric Clapton, a minimalist Dr. Feelgood, of a muddy James Hunter and even the aging Stones, in the good humour of the 60's and the attitude of a generation that doesn't respect more of the same traditions (scandalous!), but taking the same seeds, they're joined in one mission: "Taking the Blues to The Masses"... not far from the Imperial Crowns!!"
